Your diary entries about the school holiday were terrific. Please write your entries into your pink books. Begin with, 'Dear Diary,'

E-Safety

Hello Class 4, Mrs Pawson here. I just wanted to remind you to think about everything you have learnt during your e-safety lessons. Whilst you are at home, you will probably be using the internet and devices a lot more. Every week, I'll be putting a challenge on Purple Mash for the whole school to take part in.

Remember to talk to a trusted adult if you are worried about anything.

Follow the link to the E-safety page to find more information.

Hello,

I hope you are keeping well at home.

Tomorrow morning, between 08:00 and 08:30, your class teacher will be letting you know more about what activities they have planned for you for the day.

Please be patient because sometimes, when lots of people are using our school website, it's hard to upload things.  So even if you can't see anything by 08:30 am, your teacher will be trying their best to put the information you need online.

I hope you enjoy the activities.

October Half Term 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you all for your support this term. The children have been working very hard and are ready for a rest. Please can I ask however that they do do a little work. I am sending home a letter formation booklet. It would be great if they could spend 5 minutes a day working on it. I have attached a guide for you to look at to eliminate any queries regarding how the letters are formed.

If possible please also encourage your children to use Times Tables Rockstars.

Thank you in anticipation. Best wishes for a lovely holiday.

Kind regards,

Catherine Smith

Tattenhall Residential - Day 1

Class 4 arrived safely and were welcomed by the Tattenhall staff.  We had a tour around the Tattenhall Centre and the playground and field.

After a much needed break, we played outside in the fresh air.  Then we started to learn about our new dance with Jackie and some of us started to make puppets and paint our T shirts with fabric paint.

Tattenhall - Having a great time!

We worked hard doing dance and art this afternoon and have all enjoyed a delicious tea.  We're busy having some social time before we're back in the Dance Studio and Art Room again!

We're very busy at Tattenhall!

We've all had a lovely day, have our pyjamas on and are watching Ice Age - then we're off to bed.

The best part of our day has been:-

- dance with Jackie

- painting our T-shirts

- playing outside on the climbing wall

Our hopes for tomorrow are:-

- to do more art work

- to learn more dancing with Jackie

- to have another good day

More excitement to follow tomorrow!  Good night folks smiley

Tattenhall Residential - Day 2

A great start to our day with a lovely breakfast.  We are all getting very good at tidying away and helping clean up after ourselves.  More dance and artwork with Jackie and Mrs Smith, Mrs Clarke and Mrs Fryman.

We have enjoyed playing outside and have composed a piece of music using the wooden instrument in the play area.  We are back in the Art Room and the Dance studio again and we think you will be very proud of us when you see all our work!

Our Second Day at Tattenhall - Having a lovely time!

We are rehearsing for our dance performance - it's a dance about a story book called Alien Nation.

It's been a busy day!  We have eaten another delicious tea (thank you Tattenhall staff) and have been making our own book of memories.  We're off to do more dancing now and then back into the Art Room for more painting and drawing.

We're having a lovely time and are working together as a wonderful team, helping each other and enjoying each others' company.

Our evening at Tattenhall

Alien Nation is about, "It's OK being who you want to be."

We're getting ready for bed now ... it's been a very busy day and we're sleepy ... good night smiley

Homework

Dear Parents and carers,

Thank you all for helping the children make a great start to Year 4. The children have settled well and are keen to learn.

This week will see the start of English, maths and spelling homework. Homework will be given out on a  Wednesday and should be back by the following Monday as detailed previously.

Please note that we have changed the spelling homework from Friday to Wednesday. This means that spellings will be given out on a Wednesday and tested the following Wednesday.

To support the learning of the Times Tables, I would ask that you allow your child to use the online testing TT Rockstar website. The pupils have a letter in their bags about this and their login details.

Please also continue to encourage your child to read every night.

Lastly, I have placed the address of an online safety website which the children are using at school. You might want to take a look.

Thank you again for your continued support, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns about your child.

Kind regards,

Catherine Smith
