School Council 24/25

Meet the Teamsmiley:

School council organising our school collection for Warrington Foodbank as we take time to give thanks at harvest. Thank you for all your donations!

Our Autumn focus this term is: Anti- Bullying

From playgrounds to parliament, our homes to our phones, this Anti-Bullying Week let's 'Choose Respect' and bring an end to bullying which negatively impacts millions of young lives.

Anti-Bullying Week 2024

 (11th – 15th November 2024)

Launch Assembly

School Council had the pleasure of leading our whole school launch assembly for Anti-Bullying Week 2024. We discussed what it means to ‘Be Kind’ and ‘Choose Respect’. We also discussed who we can speak to in our school for help, support and share our worries.

Odd Socks Day 2024

School council representatives from each class led pupils in decorating their own pair of odd socks labelled with a friendship message. We also explored that it is a day when schools, workplaces, and individuals join together to show that it's okay to be different and to stand up against bullying and discrimination.

We created person paper chains of how we ‘stand together’ using a variety of bright colours. KS2 also created friendship bunting to hang outside our classroom and around school.

Friendship Messages

School council invited pupils to design their own friendship messaged over lunchtime in the ICT suite. School Council supported pupils in making a small heart with a little envelope and gift message for individuals to give to a friend.

Friendship Friday

Pupils were nominated by their class teachers for ways they are good friends and continually represent the values of friendship at our school. Each pupil received a certificate and a badge!

Our Spring focus this term is: Healthy Eating

Healthy Eating Assembly

(14th February 2025)

School council delivered a whole school assembly on the importance of eating healthy and drinking water to stay hydrated. School council also designed and created posters for pupils to take home to spread the message of eating healthy.

Pupil Voice March 2025

This month, school council enjoyed taking part in 'pupil voice' across the school. Representatives from each class were tasked to ask their peers what is going well in school and what would they like to see more of.

Feedback from each class was extremely positive when shared by representatives at our weekly meeting. In summary, feedback displayed that pupils really enjoy attending our school. Pupils stated that they enjoyed school visits and residentials as well as visitors, like poet Matt Goodfellow. Pupils also stated that the new lunchtime equipment was "super fun" to play with at break and lunchtimes.

Healthy Eating Raffle

School council have been working hard to promote healthy eating in school. They have recently launched an initiative to promote healthy eating and encourage nutritious snack choices at school. At as school, we are committed to helping our pupils develop healthy lifestyle habits, including maintaining a balanced diet. To support this, we kindly ask that parents ensure their children bring only healthy snacks to school. Please avoid sending in snacks that include confectionery items such as sweets, chocolate, and cakes. Thank you for your continued support in promoting the well-being of our pupils.
