Spring Term

Welcome to Year 6, your last year of Primary school!
This year is going to be full of lots of hard work, perseverance and FUN! I am thrilled to be with you on the last part of your Primary school journey.
As we begin our final half term, we have plenty to look forward to...
PE
PE will take place on a Friday with our sports coach Mr Aspinall. The year will consist of games activities, health and fitness activities, dance and gymnastics. Children will come in wearing their PE kits on a Friday.
Y6 Production
All children have been assigned a role in the Y6 play, Go for Gold. You should continue to learn your lines at home, so you are able to perform without a script.
Chester Cathedral Trip
On Thursday 9th July we will be visiting Chester Cathedral with other local schools to celebrate the end of your Primary School journey.
Enterprise
We will be having a series of Enterprise activities in which you will be responsible for designing, costing and selling different items to the school community.
As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Assessment
In Year 6, we take the SATs tests in May. This year, they will be taken between Monday 11th - Thursday 14th May 2026.
We will do plenty of work in school to prepare you for these tests, but it is important that you engage fully with your homework at home to support your learning. Closer to the time, we will have extra-curricular SATs booster sessions for any of you who would like a little bit more help.
