I hope you all had a good weekend and are ready to get back to work.

I have already received a number of Buddy Letters and they are great. Thank you so much. I am sure your buddies will love reading them.

I have attached the power point and letter headings again for those of you who are still working on your letters.

Maths:

Please finish off any outstanding work from your booklet. This booklet does not need printing off. You need to do the work in your exercise book. There are more books outside school if you need a new one. I should have also made it clear that you only need to complete a page a day. If you wish to do more, then that is your decision.

Well done to those who tried the maths challenge I set yesterday. 

If you have finished all the work I have set, then I have attached a money exercise. Answer the questions in your exercise book.

 

Writing Task

Watch the video as many times as you need to –link below. This is what a Viking village may have looked like. Then I would like you to produce a piece of written work describing the village using your senses – what can you see, hear, smell, feel (touch) and taste. Use your learning on expanded noun phrases to produce a very descriptive setting. Don’t just list things, your narrative needs to flow. Include parenthesis and a relative clause (extra information in the middle of a sentence). Also, try to include ISPACE openers. You may want to include a description of a Viking Longship in the harbour, ready for battle. Think back to your work on Viking Longships. 

Complete the task in your exercise book. Enjoy.

Maths: Continue the maths work on square numbers, prime numbers and factors. If you finish this I have added a maths challenge from the nrich site. Read the instructions carefully and have a go. It is challenging, just don't give up.

Before I start to list the work for today, I want to say how disappointed I am that someone is  messing around with other children's Purple Mash accounts and TT Rockstars accounts. Parents have e-mailed the school to report this. It would appear that this is only happening in Year 5. So, Mrs Fryman has been made aware of this and we hope it does not happen again. 

 

Purple Mash:  Maths 2-do activity has been set.

Purple Mash:  E-Safety 2-do activity has been set. In this activity, think about how you could safely use the internet to research information. Also think about what could happen if you didn't follow a safe route. Watch the video to help you.

 

Active Learn: Continue to read for at least 30 mins.
