Its "Fabulous Friday" everybody!

We hope you have all had a wonderful week so far...

This is our last day of working on punctuation and measure and next week we will finish off your time in Year 1 with some fun games and activities.

Have a wonderful day everyone and we hope you have a fantastic weekend too! heartheart

Love from Mrs Darnton, Mrs Craddock & Mrs Stow and of course Mrs Ames & Mrs Platt xx

Here are your activities...

TIMES TABLES

Begin your day by warming up your brain. Have a go of Rockstars, Daily 10 or Hit the Button. Good luck!

MATHS

We are continuing with our work on measure.

Here are some more practical measuring activities to do. Have fun!

WRITING TASK

Now that you are amazing at recognising and using exclamation marks, I'd like you to show me your skills in your own independent writing.

Please can you draw a picture of yourself and then write at least 5 sentences which describe how incredible you are. For example:

I am an absolutely amazing at gymnastics!

I am as pretty as a princess!

I am the fastest runner in the world!

I am the most marvellous mathematician there ever was!

I am the noisiest pupil in Year 1!

Remember, you must use capital letters at the start of sentences and for proper nouns, you must include clear finger spaces between words, do it in your most beautiful cursive handwriting and of MOST IMPORTANCE remember to include the exclamation mark at the end of your sentence.

Good luck wonderful writers!

ONLINE  READING AND READING REAL BOOKS

Finally, make sure that today you set some time aside to read one of your Active Learn reading books or the other online reading resources. Don't forget there are sometimes questions there too to make sure you've understood the book. Do this for at least 15 minutes daily.

Keep enjoying the wonderful world of books! xx

Thursday 16th July, 2020

Good morning everybody!

We’re nearly at the end of the week – you have been amazing both in school and at home, yet again! Well done!

Have you had a chance to watch Miss Hill’s lovely video message yet?

She is really excited about having you in her class in September and that’s because we have told her how incredible you all are!

Today we will be continuing with our exclamation mark and measure work.

Have a wonderful day everyone, whether you are at school or at home.

We are feeling very proud of you all!

Love from Mrs Darnton, Mrs Craddock & Mrs Stow and of course Mrs Ames & Mrs Platt xx heartheart

Here are your activities...

We are continuing with our work on measure.

Have a look at the Powerpoint about how to measure with a ruler correctly.

Then complete the measuring activity.

GRAMMAR

Here is a great game on punctuation for you to play. Join the ‘Small Town Hero’s’ for different punctuation games. Try the exclamation game first but of course, you can try the other games too if you would like to!

Then complete the punctuation activity. This is a challenge now to see if you have remembered everything we have been learning about punctuation.

RE

Below you will find the RE lesson that Mrs Craddock set for the last 2 weeks. I I have included the document again because there were lots of different activities for you to complete. If you have done all of the activities then we would like you to create a leaflet or poster to explain why Christians think Baptism is so important.

ONLINE  READING AND READING REAL BOOKS

Finally, make sure that today you set some time aside to read one of your Active Learn reading books. Don't forget there are sometimes questions there too to make sure you've understood the book. Do this for at least 15 minutes daily.

Please be aware that we may not allocate you any more books on Active Learn once you have completed your library. This is because there are a limited number of books per book band. Please access the Collins Big Cat reading resources, Oxford Owl online books or your own books from home. Thank you!
