Writing

Watch the video clip of the ‘Dear Zoo’ story.

In your workbook I would like you to write a few sentences or the full story if you can of ‘Dear Zoo’.  You could make up your own animals if you like.  Have Fun!

 

Maths

Look at the sheet below with subtraction number problems.  Using the pictures work out the answers and write the problems in your workbook.

 

Reading

Active Learn - Please read one of your allocated Active Learn books for at least 10 minutes and use the illustrations to answer any questions your parents may ask you about the book.

Watch the small video about a day in the vets.  See how the vet cares for and looks after the animals.  Then using the App make your own vets.  Please complete this activity by 21st May.

Please look at the E-safety page on our school website.  Make sure you spend 10 minutes each week discussing/thinking about how to stay safe online.

Tuesday 12th May

Good morning Class R! 

Thank you for all your work, the phonics scores on Purple mash yesterday were amazing!  It is great to see that you are all working so hard……as always, I am so proud of you all!

If you would like to access any additional activities whilst at home, BBC Bitesize have some great daily lessons on their website - not just English and Maths but also Science, History, Geography and more!  It does only start in Year One but there may be some things you can do.......surprise yourself!

Purple Mash Activity

Can you create your own chick?  I have set this activity as a 2do, please complete by Tuesday 19th May.

 

Maths

Look at the sheet below and follow the instructions for subtracting two single digit numbers using Lego.  When you have finished the sheet, use your own Lego brick and make up your own subtraction number problems.  Write the number problems and answers in your maths book.

 

Literacy/Phonics

Look at the sheet below, the sentences are all muddled up. Put them in the correct order and write them in your workbook.  Complete three more pages, I will ask you to complete more during the week.

Good Morning Class R!  I hope you are all safe and well.

Well what a lovely Bank Holiday weekend it was!  We had lots of sunshine and it was so nice to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Did you do anything nice for VE Day?  I made some red, white and blue bunting and decorated the front of my house.

I have set a phonics task for you to complete on Purple mash – this is set as a 2do –choose the correct ending to each word you see on the screen.  Please complete by the 18th May.

 

Writing   

Look at the sheet below, the sentences are all muddled up. Put them in the correct order and write them in your workbook.  Complete three pages, I will ask you to complete more during the week.  If you find any words difficult to read, ask your parents to help you.

 

Maths

Using the instructions below we are going to order objects by height.  This is a fun practical activity for you to enjoy with your parents or siblings.  Please draw or write your findings in your workbook.

 

Reading

Please read one of your Active Learn books and talk about the book with your parent.  Discuss what you liked about the book etc.  Don't forget to look out for the 'bug' at the top of the pages and answer the comprehension questions.
