Attendance at St Matthew's is overall excellent. In case of absence we ask parent to contact school before 09:00 am to inform us of their child's absence.
Punctuality: All children are expected to be in school by 9.00 am, but should not be on the school grounds before 8.45 am without an adult in attendance. The school doors will be open from 8.45 am to allow children a phased start in which to arrive, leave coats and bags in the cloakroom and settle into the classroom ready for registration.
Children will be registered as late if they arrive after 09:00 am, by which time the register will have been taken.
Any child arriving between 09:00 am and 09:10 am needs to enter school via the front entrance and be signed in by their parent/carer, as considered 'late'.
Children arriving after 09:10 am are considered absent, and the reason for the absence is noted.
We monitor attendance and punctuality carefully and are happy to support parents, carers and children with any issues they may be facing. It is not always possible for every child to have an excellent attendance and punctuality record, please do contact us if we can help.
