Recovery Curriculum
Our recovery framework aims to restore the mental health and rebuild the resilience of our children to allow them to become engaged learners again by:
-
recognising the experiences had by all
-
restoring trust and relationships with staff
-
re-establishing friendships and social interactions
-
regaining structure and routine
-
rebuilding a sense of community
-
regulating their emotions and managing behaviours
-
re-engaging them in learning
-
preparing them for transition
In addition, our recovery plan aims to accelerate learning and progress for all children by:
-
Ensuring missed learning from the previous year group is identified and incorporated into “catch-up” planning.
-
Thorough handover between teachers
-
New learning techniques are explored to ensure children learn more effectively to ensure more than adequate coverage of new learning.
-
Knowledge organisers are implemented to ensure children understand what the crucial knowledge is within each scheme of work.
-
Additional homework is provided digitally to ensure children’s digital skills are enhanced as a contingency in the likelihood of further lockdown. (See digital strategy)
