SEND across the Curriculum: Our Vision
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
At St Matthew's, we are proud to be an Inclusive School. Through regular monitoring of the provisions we offer, we can provide a secure, caring, and happy environment in which all pupils can succeed.
All staff work closely together to identify individual learning needs. Once a specific need has been identified, a personalised Learning Plan is created to specify how we will adapt the provision and set targets for the child as an individual. The Learning Plan incorporates advice from specialist agencies, where appropriate, and will consider the best way to deliver support. For example, this may be a mixture of in-class support, small group work with a teaching assistant, targeted interventions, special arrangements, or the provision of special equipment and resources. The Learning Plans are shared with children, and parents, and are reviewed regularly throughout the school year. At St Matthew's we follow The Graduated Approach - please find more information about this above.
Our Inclusion Team here at St Matthew's is made up of Miss Stubbs (SENDCo), Mrs Pawson (SENDCo), and Mrs Watson (Wellbeing and Mental Health Lead). They work collaboratively with class teachers to provide support across our school. You can contact the Inclusion Team at inclusionteam@stmatthewsceprimary.com
