Mrs Williams, Mrs Ames and Mrs Hopley x

                                       Thursday May 14th.

Good morning Class 3. We hope you are all well and Mrs Ames, Mrs Hopley and I want you to know how much we are missing you, but also want you to know how proud we are of you all. You are doing an amazing job. Keep working hard!

We realise that you probably weren't able to access your Purple Mash account yesterday but hopefully you all now have a new username and password.yes

Here are today's activities.

MATHS

You might want to start by completing the Purple Mash game on your 2do list that you couldn't access yesterday.

Then I'd like you to choose one of the following activities to complete.

Look at the addition word problems and decide which ones you'd like to complete. Use the addition method you have been revising this week to help you answer the questions. You don't need to print this work. Answer the questions and show your workings out in your book.

GRAMMAR

There is a game called Making Lists for you to do on Purple Mash. Use commas to separate items in each list.

Then I'd like you to think of some sentences of your own and add commas to separate items. You could write sentences about your favourite food, holiday destinations, subjects at school, favourite books or TV programmes. These are just ideas, you can choose whatever you like. Please complete this work in your book.

ACTIVE LEARN

Please read one of your Active Learn books or a book of your choice every day. I can see that many of you have opened numerous books during the day but haven't completed them. In order to complete a book, you have to complete all the comprehension questions within the text. When you have done this you can complete the book, 'Close It' and then 'Rate It' with a smiley, 'ok' or sad face.

I can see that many of you only have a few books left to read. I check book allocations every day and some of you have now exhausted your selection. If you see that I don't allocate you any new books then please log into the Collins Reading Resources or Oxford Owl eBooks to find new, exciting books to read.

ROCKSTARS

Please continue to go over your times tables every day. I can see that some of you haven't logged into Rock Stars for a while- please make sure you log in and practise every day.

We hope you enjoy today's activities Class 3. smiley

                                             Wednesday May 13th.

I hope you enjoyed completing your VE Day work yesterday. I was thrilled with your newspaper reports, well done!

Here are today's activities.

COMPUTING

Mrs Ames would like you to complete the crossword below. Do you know what the words mean? Discuss them with an adult or write them in a sentence to show your understanding.

You could even have a go at creating your own word search using other words linked to e-safety and see if someone in your house can solve it!

When you have done this there is also a word search for you to complete - enjoy! smiley

Monday 11th May 2020

Good morning Class 3!

We hope you had a wonderful bank holiday weekend celebrating 75 years since VE day. We would love to hear all about what you did with your families to mark the very special occasion!

Well done again for all the incredible, hard work you have been submitting. Please don't feel like you have to send in every piece you are completing at home - we know you are all doing your best and we couldn't be more proud laugh

Here's a little emoji code breaker to start off the week:

SPELLINGS

For your spellings this week, we are looking at some of the words from the Year 3/4 word list.

These are special words that don't necessarily follow a spelling pattern, which can make them a little trickier to learn! Follow the Power Point below in presentation mode if you can, then complete the activity on Purple Mash.

I've added an extra word search this week which you might find fun to complete too!

Your spellings for this week:

believe, appear, often, group, breath, continue, arrive, women, describe, height

ENGLISH

Here is a reading comprehension for you about VE Day.

You don't need to print this work. Please write the answers in full sentences in your book. Choose the comprehension that will challenge you. smiley

MATHS

I've set you some revision work this week. We covered this work during the Autumn term but I'd like you to go over it to make sure you remember what to do. I'm sure you'll quickly get the hang of it again! Watch the Power Point below to remind yourself of this work and start with the first activity if you'd like to revise this work from the beginning.

You don't need to print this work, just copy the sums or just write the answers in your book. Please complete activity 2 and if you'd like a challenge, complete activity 3 as well.

ACTIVE LEARN

Please read an Active Learn book or one of your books from home daily.

ROCKSTARS

Please keep going over your times tables. I'll add a Times Tables Friday activity for you to complete at the end of the week.

Have a good day Class 3. We are all very proud of the work you are doing.

Don't forget to send us any VE Day photos you'd like to share with the class.
