Year 5
Welcome Back! Summer Term 2
It's going to be an action-packed few weeks until we break up on Friday 24th July!
It's our Year 5 Class Assembly next week so I look forward to seeing you all there.
The Summer Term Curriculum Newsletter is available as a link at the bottom of this page and next week I will upload the Home LEarning choices for this half term. Last term's Home Learning was of a very high standard again and I would like to thank you for supporting your children in producing such excellent pieces of work! We will be finishing off our topic on Mountains and starting two new topics - Changing Sounds and Life Cycles.
Towards the end of the term, there is of course Walking Day to look forward to and the always popular 'St Matthew's Has Talent'!
Summer Term 1
I hope you have all had a relaxing Easter break! It's the summer Term! Hopefully that means warmer days, lighter nights and lots of interesting new things to learn!
I can hardly wait for the Mobile Farm visit this Thursday, which will provide us with lots of great learning opportunities across the curriculum.
New topics this term will include our fascinating Geography topic about Mountains in the UK and accross the World and the chance to find out all bout the religion and art of Islam. The Summer Term Curriculum Newsletter will shortly be available as a link at the bottom of this page along with the Home Learning choices for this half term. Last Term's Home Learning was of a particullarly high standard and I would like to thank you for supporting your children in producing such excellent pieces of work!
Class 5 Trip to Tattondale Farm, Knutsford
We had a fabulous time yesterday on our class trip to Tattondale Farm! Your outfits were amazing! We enjoyed finding out about life in wartime Cheshire, meeting Pigwig the sow, feeding the goats and chickens, learning to milk cows and toasting bread on a real 1940s range. Scroll down for photos!
Happy Easter to you all! Enjoy the break!

Welcome Back! Spring Term 2
Teacher: Mrs Karatas
As always, there is so much to look forward to this term and so many new things to learn!
We will be continuing with our topic about 'World War 2' - a fascinating subject and one which the children have already enhanced by bringing in real historical artefacts from home to share. So far we have looked at family medals, authentic ration books, army photographs and national identity cards! Thanks so much for sending in all these amazing sources of primary evidence! Our topic will culminate with an amazing class trip to Tatton Park for a World War 2 Living History Day, which I have provisionally booked for the 3rd April (just before the Easter Holidays). I will be sending out more details of our trip by letter next week.
