Year 3
24th June. We had a great afternoon creating images for our whole school art project with Stephen Waterhouse.
Welcome back to school after your Easter holidays!
For the rest of the week we have plenty of new things to learn about too. We will be continuing with our number work and problem solving in maths, learning about stories, instructions and explanations in English and then of course there is our exciting new geography topic 'The Lake District' which is so interesting. I know you'll love it! We'll do plenty of reading, writing and artwork linked to Beatrix Potter too.
Of course we've got our class reward to look forward to, to thank you for being an amazing class. Your 60 class points have earned you another film afternoon when we will watch 'The Waterhorse' which is based on our class novel by Dick King-Smith. We also have our new class book 'Charlotte's Web' to enjoy. Another one of my favourite stories to read to you.
If you can earn 70 class points this time then perhaps I can let you watch this film too!
Spellings/phonics will come home each Friday on Mrs Pawson's day and must be back by the following Thursday so we can mark them ready to give back out on the Friday.
English Home Learning will be given out each Thursday and must be in on Monday. Maths Home Learning will be given out on a Monday and will need to be handed in by Thursday. Some home learning will involve using Purple Mash and our Activelearn grammar activities and books. You'll find your logins in your homework diaries.
As always, daily reading is really important and make sure you practise times tables too! Any offers of parental help with this would be much appreciated. Let us know if you are able to offer any help.
We look forward to an exciting term ahead!
