Year 2

Hello Class 2! It's lovely to see you all back in school this week. I hope you all enjoyed a lovely break over half term and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine we have had! It has been wonderful to hear about all of the exciting things you have done and places you have visited. 

 

During our last half term in Class 2, we have lots of fun and exciting topics to look forward to. We will begin our new geography topic 'Our Wonderful World' and in DT, we will complete a project where we will design and make our own pizzas which I know you are all very excited about! I have included our knowledge organisers for this half term below for you to take a look at!

Hello Class 2! I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter holiday! 

Welcome back to school as we begin the Summer Term! 

 

We have lots of exciting new topics to look forward to this term, here is what we will be learning about....

English - Letter Writing based around the book 'The Last Wolf' 

Maths - Measurement: Length and Height, Time and Problem Solving

Below you will find Knowledge Organisers linked to our topics this half term! 

 

Homework and spellings will be sent home each Friday and should be returned to school by the following Friday. Homework tasks will link to our learning in school each week so that you can practise further at home. Please continue to read daily at home and record this in your reading records. I will update books regularly on Active Learn so you can also access these if you'd like to do any additional reading! 

 

I am looking forward to seeing you all and hearing about all of the lovely things you have done over the Easter holidays!

Hello Class 2! 

Welcome back! It has been wonderful to see you all and I hope you all enjoyed our first week back in school together! I am so impressed with how hard you are all working! We have a very exciting few weeks ahead with lots to learn about and look forward to! We will be completing class projects about our class courageous advocate (Sir David Attenborough), we'll be spending lots of time outdoors during our PE sessions and we will be taking part in our whole school 'Reach for the Stars' week at the end of term. We also have lots of Easter activities and assemblies which will be taking place in school over the next couple of weeks and Rev Alan will be leading us in our 'Stations of the Cross' event!

You are doing a fantastic job and we are all very proud of how hard you are working!smiley You have all adapted to remote learning incredibly well and I am super impressed with the excellent work that you are completing!

I am super proud of all your excellent work since returning to school! I know that some of you are at home and are waiting to come back into school so I have listed below some websites and activities that you may find useful in order to access work at home! 

 

I have allocated you all new books on Active Learn and also set some '2do' tasks on Purple Mash!smiley

PE will now take place on TUESDAY afternoons. Please make sure that your PE kit is in school by Tuesday - warm clothing will be required as we will be outside!blush

Dear Class 2, 

 

I hope you have all had a lovely summer holiday and I am looking forward to hearing about all of the fun things that you have done! I know things will feel a little strange at first having not been in school for such a long time, but please know that both me and Mrs Platt will do EVERYTHING we can to make sure you feel safe and happy whilst in school and have lots of fun learning new things in Class 2!

I am super excited about our new year together and I am very much looking forward to being your class teacher! If you have any questions or your parents are concerned about anything at all, please let me know! Year 2 is going to be a great year full of new things to learn about and share!
