Art Week - Long Ago and Far Away
Our theme is Long Ago and Far Away
We are busy this week preparing our exhibition entries for the Primary Arts Network Exhibition which is to be held in the Gateway in Warrington from Monday March 17th.
We are proud to be joining in with 40 other schools from across Warrington this week who are also preparing artwork for the Primary Arts Network exhibition at the Gateway in Warrington which will be launched on Monday March 17th
During this week each class’s curriculum will become even more cross curricular as we learn about art from other cultures and times in our theme of Long Ago and Far Away.
Look at the ‘Gallery’ page on our website to find out more about what we are learning … see Year 2’s wigwam and Native American patterns they have researched using the netbooks and see Year 4’s willow patterns.
Year 5 will soon be rehearsing for their performance at the Parr Hall on Monday 24th March at 6:30pm … Following a performance of Romeo and Juliet by the Manchester Theatre Company, Year 5 used this epic love story as the theme for their residential, art work and dance.
We are very excited about all the fabulous cross curricular learning that is taking place this week … so if you do hear your child say they have been doing art all week … please look out for our celebrations of work which will be following shortly and you won’t fail to be impressed at the breadth and quality of learning taking place in our school and the other 40 schools in the arts network!
Here is a flavour of what we are learning about ...
