Global Citizens
Here at St Matthews, we understand that the world is much bigger than us, and everyone and everything in it is important. We recognise our responsibility to help others and do our part to keep our planet healthy, and that is why we have a team of committed Global Citizens who lead the charge in making the world a better place!
Our Global Citizens are:
Year 6: Jack and Sophia
Year 5: Milly and Rishab
Year 4: Ben and Eira
Year 3: Caleb and Danielle
Year 2: Blake and Jasmine
Year 1: Alaia and Ava
We are taking an active role in our community to make the planet more peaceful, sustainable and fair. Here are some examples of what we're up to:
- Participating in Walk and Bike to School week
- Working towards a Plastic Clever Schools accreditation
- Litter picking
- Exploring and improving the biodiversity in our school
- Improving the recycling in our school and participating in Recycling Week

100 Miles in March for WWF!
The children took part in the 100 Miles in March challenge to raise money for WWF. Each class went on a run around the school field, with KS1 completing half a mile each and KS2 completing a full mile, racking up a collective total over 150 miles!
We raised an incredible £180 for WWF.
