Summer Term 2, 2015

A warm welcome back to all of Class 3 for a busy and exciting Summer Term...

A BIG HELLO TO FREDDIE!

WE HOPE YOU ARE USING OUR CLASS PAGE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR WORK ON THE LAKE DISTRICK.

CLASS 3 HAVE ASKED ME TO SAY A BIG 'HELLO!'

WE ARE ALL MISSING YOU AND YOUR SMILE! EVERYBODY IS MISSING YOUR JOKES TOO!!

WE HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!

It's hard to believe that is it nearly the Summer holidays already! We hope you had a lovely Whit holiday and that you had a good rest for the final few weeks in Class 3.

We've got lots of interesting and exciting topics to learn about this term. In science we will be learning about the wonders of light and plants in Geography we will also be comparing the landscape of the Lake District to our local landscape. We will also link this topic to work on Beatrix Potter's artwork and stories, to poems inspired by the Lake District and to music which makes us think about our surroundings. In RE we will be learning about Judaism which is a fascinating religion.

Of course we will continue to develop our Maths and English skills too during our daily lessons.

We will continue to be part of the Warrington Gospel Project which means we will be learning more gospel songs throughout the term. We will continue to have training each fortnight from a professional gospel singer and then we will also practise in our own time too. We will take part in a concert at the end of the project and will hopefully have another mini-concert ready for you soon.

PE this term is each Monday and Thursday so do make sure you have your PE kit in school all the time. Thursday PE will be cricket outside with Dave and myself so make sure you have your trainers, socks and something warm to wear too. (Don't forget hats and sun cream if it is sunny!)

Spellings/Phonics will come home now each Wednesday and must be back by the following Monday so we can mark them ready to give back out on the Wednesday.

Home learning will be given out each Friday and will need to be handed in by Thursday at the latest so we can mark it ready for the next day. Some home learning will involve using Purple Mash and our new Activelearn grammar activities and books.

You'll find your logins in your homework diaries.

As always, daily reading is really important and make sure you practise times tables too! Any offers on parental help with this would be much appreciated. Let us know if you are able to help!
