Keep Safe

We would like to make parents aware of some important Health & Safety and Safeguarding regulations that schools are required to adhere to:-

Access to School During Fire Drills & Evacuation and 'Lockdown' Drills

We would like to make you aware that each term we carry out a fire drill and evacuation of the building and also carry out a drill in case we needed to 'lock down' our school.  Please note that if you are a visitor to school, or are calling to collect your children whilst we are carrying out any of these drills, you will not be able to gain access until the drill is complete.  This is for the safety of your children and we hope that you will show understanding and support us carrying out our termly safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures.

Car Parking and Road Access.
Please ensure that you drive with due respect and consideration to other road users on all nerby roads and car parks at ALL times.  We expect every adult to take care to protect and ensure the safety of all our children at all times - especially when entering and exiting car parks and using the car parks.  At regular times school will monitor the use of the car parks and will, if necessary, enlist the support of our PSCO and road traffic police.

After School Use of Playground Equipment
Children must be supervised at all times should they use the adventure playground areas before or after school.  School cannot take any responsibility for any child who has an accident (or causes another child to have an accident) before the start of the school day, or after it.  Please be vigilant as we do not want your children to get hurt.

Bicycles and Scooters on Our School Site
We do not allow bicycles or scooters to be ridden (by adults or children) on our school playground before or after school.  We do not want children, or adults to be hurt.

Dogs on Our School Site
In common with other Warrington schools, we do not allow dogs onto our school playground, irrespective of whether they are on a lead or not. This means that dogs are not allowed through the green gates either side of the building and at the rear. The policy of no dogs at the rear of the school ie. the playground has aways been in force. The only exception to this policy is for guide/assistance dogs.

We ask that if you do walk your dog to school, you secure them well away from any of the school entrances so that children and adults who are apprehensive about dogs do not become upset.

We have a duty of care first and foremost to all the children in the school.  We have had instances where dogs have fouled on grass areas and paths, where our children play.  Some of our pupils are frightened of dogs.  Schools in Warrington are advised to follow the Local Authority's Health & Safety advice and we trust that parents and carers will comply.

Dogs are permitted on the remainder of the premises, provided they are on a lead.

Thank you for helping us to keep your children and other parents safe.
