ENGLISH: Instructions - My computer has muddled up my instructions for making Fairy Cakes... You are required to rewrite the instructions in your English Homework books and order them correctly.
REMEMBER the layout of instructions and how we should structure our work… Don’t forget to include the text type features that we have looked at in class (title, subheadings, bullet points, colon, numbered steps, ingredients/equipment list, brackets, imperative verbs etc…)
CHALLENGE – Could you also add any time adverbials to your instructions?

COMPREHENSION: Writing instructions - Read the letter and present the information again, giving clear instructions.
Remember to give your writing a heading, to list the ingredients and then write out the instructions for making a jelly.
GRAMMAR: Brackets

COMPREHENSION: Describing Settings - Writing different story openings for different settings (school and a strange planet) Then, choose one of the setting cards. Write the opening of a story that takes place in your chosen setting!
Here are some things to consider...
- is your setting likely to be familiar to the reader already?
- do you need to describe the setting completely, or just add a few key details?
- do you want to use the setting to help the reader understand the atmosphere of the story?
GRAMMAR: Verbs and verb tenses - Look at the sentences and decide whether the events they describe are happening in the past, the present or the future and complete the table.
MATHS: Addition and Subtraction - adding and subtracting decimal numbers. Choose numbers from the set given to make your own calculations!

COMPREHENSION: Read the page from the story 'The Dragonsitter' by Josh Lacey. Underline the problems that Edward is writing about. Draw the problem and write the solution in the boxes. Answer the questions using the clues you have underlined and then finally, retell the story in your own words.
GRAMMAR: Punctuation - add the commas to the sentences that have been missed out. Challenge: Rewrite each sentence and punctuate it correctly...
MATHS: Decimal sports results - place the results for each event in order in the results table.
Tip: Don't be confused by the number of digits after the decimal point; it is the value of each digit that matters!
