Parent Governor Election

We are looking to appoint a Parent Governor and would like you to consider whether you could serve St Matthew’s Primary School in this way. Governors play a key role in ensuring that the children of our community develop both academically and spiritually within a distinctive Christian ethos. We are looking for people who are able to support the school in all aspects of its work and are willing to commit time and effort to supporting the educational development of the children in the school. It is important that you have a willingness to commit to the role and an ability to ask questions whilst working with others to ensure the best outcomes for the children by challenging and supporting school leaders in equal measure. The role requires a full DBS disclosure and a commitment to undertake necessary training. We use a skills matrix to ensure we have a wide variety of skills on the governing body. We are particularly keen to hear from parents who have experience in the mental health or education sector. Full Governing Body meetings typically take place four times per year at 4pm, with smaller subcommittees held throughout each term. Membership of any committee will be based on your interests and experience. If you feel that you could take on this very important role then all we ask is that you fill in the ‘Election of Parent Governors Nomination Paper’, with your proposer and seconder details completed. We do hope you will consider working with us in the capacity of parent governor, supporting the work of our school and helping to make a real difference to our children’s school lives by TUESDAY 3RD MAY 2022 at 12 noon.
