6th June 2020
I thought I would email you to let you know that preparations for next week and the weeks following are well underway; staff training, preparation for groups of children returning, provision for children who have been in school during partial closure and (not forgetting) preparations for children who will still be at home.
I have added some Tips for parents to ease child anxiety of returning to school - some helpful information received from Herfordshire Council, which some of you might be interested to read and browse.
Teachers will start uploading home learning for children who are still at home on Monday. There are teachers (working remotely) who will be working to find some different ways we can support the children who remain at home; we hope to give you more details soon.
I have also attached a letter from WBC for you, together with some technical guidance from STAG, which you may find useful.
I would like to offer some reassurance to parents whose children are to return on Wednesday (and thereafter) that all the staff and governors have been (and will continue) to do their utmost to make a smooth and safe a transition as possible back into school. On that note, I will be able to share a weighty risk assessment with you on Tuesday, which is very much a work in progress and will be a continually re-drafted document. More details will follow next week.
I look forward to seeing the children (and parents) who are in school next week, and wish all of you well and hope that it won't be too long before St Matthew's operates as usual again.
Until next week,
